Twenty-six years ago, a new tradition was started in New Hampshire called “Antiques Week in New Hampshire”...

and the rest is history.

 

The New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association, also known as the NHADA, began years ago called by many the NH Show, the New Hampshire Antiques Show, the New Hampshire Antiques Dealers Association Show and the NH Antiques Show, which had already been well established under the management of Russell Carrell in Concord, NH at the Concord Highway Hotel. NHADA dealers would set up in their hotel rooms the night before the show date and then set up in the ballroom the next morning. Dealers and collectors came from hours away to be part of the action. With the passing of Mr. Carrell, the NHADA took a new direction and moved to Manchester, NH the current site of their 63rd anniversary show. Being the only antiques show in the month of August, there were literally hundreds of dealers that wanted “in” but the show was limited to around 64 exhibitors and remains the same today. That supply and demand gap, left the door open for Barn Star Productions and their president, well recognized Americana dealer Frank Gaglio to start a complimentary show the same week called MidWeek in Manchester, held in Bedford, NH at the Wayfarer Inn encompassing the entire Convention Center and a memorable tent pavilion housing over 85 exhibitors. The show was a resounding success, the beginning of Antiques Week in New Hampshire and MidWeek still continues as one of the most popular events of Antiques Week celebrating its’ 26th anniversary this August with their first MidWeek Online Antiques Fair, August 5th through 7th, 2020. It wasn’t long before other show managers jumped on the band wagon including Nan Gurley’s Americana Celebration Antiques Show in Deerfield, NH, also known as The Deerfield Antiques Show, and simply Deerfield at the Fairgrounds, then The Milford Antiques Show, followed by Antiques in Manchester or The Collector’s Fair, all combined to make Antiques Week in New Hampshire.

Regretfully, as we all looked forward to the 2020 NH Antiques Week, our plans were sadly changed by Covid-19. Though we will not be in New Hampshire live for our fantastic New Hampshire Antiques Week, we invite you to join the NHADA Online Show, the MidWeek Online Antiques Fair, The Collectors Fair and the only live show, The Deerfield Antiques Show on Sunday, August 2nd at 9AM till 3PM.
